Course Description
Welcome to "Website Construction I". In this course, students will learn how to build a website — from concept to implementation — as a vehicle for professional self or group promotion. Web programming, graphic presentation and layout, audio/visual file formats, and website creation/maintenance tools will be used to develop a website for each student in the class. Students must be able to demonstrate competency in general computing tasks as well as internet and web application use.
This class meets in ESM 70, from 8:30am to 10:30 AM. Class dates are Tuesday-Friday, starting Tuesday June 30 and ending Friday, July 10.
Note that this is one of 2 summer web development classes offered at Eastman. The first class focuses on learning HTML and CSS, as well as the basics of how website content and design are created and delivered. The advanced course covers scripting languages (PHP and Javascript) and helps students to publish sites to "yourname.com" domains as well as develop a more polished, professional site.
The advanced class also meets in ESM 70, from 8:30am to 10:30 AM. Class dates are Tuesday-Friday, starting Tuesday July 14 and ending Friday, July 24.
Note: This site is in place as a mirror for reference materials posted in blackboard since we have some students who may not be able to access Blackboard.
